Featuring raw production and lyrics from MeccaGodZilla and others, this project captures Kong’s signature gravel-toned delivery, razor-edged lyricism, and apocalyptic storytelling first heard on MF DOOM’s Operation: Doomsday and refined within the Monsta Island Czars collective on the Escape from Monsta Island LP. With eerie piano loops, dusty drums, and cinematic grit, Shackles Off is a defining chapter in early 2000s underground Hip Hop.
