Description
MANAFEST VISION MEDIA LLC. is excited to announce a new instrumental album by MeccaGodZilla (aka ADUM⁷) called “The Prototype.” The new album is one of many that will be released during the last quarter of 2019.
“I paint with sound and these instrumentals I cooked up are songs you can dive into and get lost in. This is simply me as a visual artist having fun channeling my spirit each and every time while sitting in front of the keyboard to paint with sound.”
Inspired by MC and music producer Undakova during Fall 2019, MeccaGodZilla was gently challenged to release 100 instrumentals before 2020. Undakova, while teaching music production alongside MeccaGodZilla to at-risk youth in the Bronx, discovered that MeccaGodZilla, akin to numerous artists in history, had a stash of unreleased work unfamiliar to the world, particularly fans of indie Hip-Hop. Accepting the challenge, ADUM⁷ shares 15 new instrumentals that blend elements of NYC boom-bap style with trap, experimental, lo-fi, and electronic music.
“Sometimes as artists, we create so much material that the world never gets to see or experience it. We end up hoarding our divinely inspired ideas and vibrations for whatever reason we create for ourselves. It makes me think about all of the amazingly unique material that has gone unreleased via countless friends of mine that have already ascended back up to the stars. I’m so over a lot of things these days, especially any barriers or hurdles for me being fully self-expressed as a creative. Sometimes as artists we overthink – we want a team, we want better mixes, we want better marketing strategy…we want, we want. While we wait for those things to fall into place, life continues on and before you know it…none of our work gets heard because you are just waiting. We get in our own way and the people that want to see us win never really get to see how serious we are when it comes to the quality and volume(s) of what we create. Hoarding the work isn’t really where the fun is, the fun is in creating and letting go to make space for new inspiration. It is kinda like a rinse and repeat cycle so to speak. I am enjoying this challenge of just letting go and letting my work resonate where it’s supposed with the people it’s supposed while not being focused on any expectations for reactions at all. I am just really happy and on tilt to put the music out and let it go. This album is dedicated to a friend that I lost earlier this year to non-Hodgkins lymphoma. She was one of the founding members of EOW Toronto. Much love to Monica “Nika Dala” Nguyen.”
